April 20-22, 2035: vs Kansas City (3)
Game 1: 5-2 W. WP-Lennon (2-2, 7 1 1 1 2 3). S-Whitfield (3). HR-Pino (5), Castro (1), Gurrola (3). Rays got 2-run homers in the first from Pino and Castro and Lennon pitched his best game of the season as they took the opener from KC.
Game 2: 5-2 W. WP-Jimenez (1-0, 6 2 2 2 0 8). S-Whitfield (4). HR-Hardy 2 (5), Ransom (1), Gurrola (4). After three no-decisions to start his Rays career, Jimenez got a win while his teammates got him all 5 runs of support via the longball. Hardy's pair brought home 3 runs.
Game 3: 3-4 L (10). LP-L.Gonzalez (1-1). Starter-Vargas (8 6 3 3 0 7). A frustrating loss for the Rays as they couldn't hold leads of 2-0 and 3-2 and stranded a whopping 13 runners in the process, making it inevitable that the Royals would punish them for their profligacy. Every Rays batter, including a pinch-hitter, left at least two men on base.
Team record: 11-8, 1/2 game out of first. Next up: Baltimore, just behind them at 10-9, visits for 3 games.
