We don't have
any streaming services. Early this year I spent an entire morning researching and researching and comparing to figure out how it works and what it would cost. I discovered that streaming would cost more than the overpriced cable we have now, if we wanted to continue watching all the channels we regularly watch now.
Just to begin streaming, we would need to either buy a Roku thing or buy a "smart" tv, because we have just an ordinary large flat tv we bought before 2017.
Our overpriced cable service offers several "streaming" channels. My understanding is that we would need to buy an adapter to begin receiving them. Every time they send us an email nagging us about the "free" streaming channels they offer, I email them back and ask why they don't just add them to our existing service instead of making us jump through hoops.
It's all too bloody complicated. TV should be simple. I'm surprised that millions of people have let themselves be convinced that dividing tv channels up and paying for them separately is a good thing.
