I have quietly sat back and watched since I made this post after week 1. I am not some NFL genius. The cracks in this team were evident all off-season and then Ragnow retired on them. Some said to basically take a breath, it was week 1. That wasn’t bad advice, fans can get over emotional, but I knew this was different even though I was hoping to happily eat crow on Christmas; but it was for not. I recognize teams like New England and then Kansas City gave the optics that you can have sustained success in this league, I don’t buy it as much. Can you be relevant, absolutely, but to win a Super Bowl there is a window. Can the Lions get back there? Sure, I think they can, but they need to operate differently and they certainly wasted a golden opportunity by not trying to improve this team this last offseason.
