Cards news: May 24 -- RHP Munoz, IF Snow and minor-league catcher go to Atlanta for reliever

The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired minor-league right-handed reliever Sean Rotruck from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for right-handed reliever Daniel Munoz, minor-league infielder Jake Snow and minor-league catcher Sean Jensen.
The 23-year-old Rotruck has pitched at both AA Columbus and AAA Gwinnett.
In eight games, he has gone 0-1 with one save and a 2.76 ERA.
An 18th-round pick in the 2030 MLB draft by the Braves, for his career he has pitched in 95 games/29 starts during which he is 16-11 with four saves and a 3.50 ERA.
Signed to be the Cardinals closer before the 2032 season, the 36-year-old Munoz pitched in 17 games a year ago going 5-4 with 20 saves and a 3.13 ERA.
But this year has been a different story as in 15 outings he is 0-1 with one save and a 4.91 ERA.
The 16th-overall pick in the 2030 draft by the Cardinals, Snow has never really clicked either in the minors or in the opportunities he has gotten in the majors.
In 16 games/15 starts this season in St. Louis, he has hit .235 with one homer and four RBIs.
Overall, he broke into the majors in 2031, he has hit .210 with three home runs and 11 RBIs in 38 games/34 starts.
In parts of three seasons at AAA Memphis, Snow has hit .250 with 18 home runs and 79 RBIs in 176 games.
St. Louis signed the 28-year-old Jensen to a minor-league contract in February.
He has played at both AA Springfield and AAA Memphis this season, hitting a combined .315 with one home run and 11 RBIs.
