IMO reached the SB is too high of an expectation. How many became contenders would be a better way to judge. All contenders can't make it to the SB. But all SB teams are contenders. If one doesn't reach the SB, it's just happenstance, because they all can't. It has nothing to do with how few wins they had in the past.
