Nola Claims NL Cy Young Award
Aaron Nola’s consistency and durability atop the Philadelphia Phillies’ rotation earned him the National League Cy Young Award for the 2024 season. Nola dazzled all year, finishing with a 21–8 record in 33 starts while logging a league-leading 237 innings. He struck out 234 batters against just 40 walks, allowed 207 hits, and posted a 3.30 ERA, while holding opposing hitters to a .232 average. His steady excellence made him the backbone of the Phillies’ pitching staff and a dominant presence throughout the season.
San Diego Padres right-hander Michael King (17-8 W/L, 2.80 ERA, 227 K in 221.2 IP, 5.1 WAR) finished second in the Cy Young voting, while Phillies teammate Ranger Suárez (17-8 W/L, 2.85 ERA, 196 K in 227.1 IP, 4.8 WAR) placed third.
