The
Catholic Protectory Oval is perhaps one of the smallest venues in baseball history. The unusual dimensions increased offense greatly, and possibly contributed to
Chino Smith's incredible 1929 season for the New York Lincoln Giants. It was torn down in 1938 to make room for apartment buildings. I remade an earlier model and played with Sketchup so that the outfielders would remain in the stadium. Here are the actual dimensions:
