DIAMONDWIRE: The Pipeline Report (OOTP 26)
Hi all — welcome to DiamondWire.
This is my prospect-only hub for my OOTP 26 save. No standings talk, no daily MLB recap — the entire focus here is the pipeline: breakouts, sleepers, fast risers, flameouts, and the players who are going to shape the next wave of stars.
Why do this? Simple: I’ve never been totally satisfied with how OOTP handles prospect rankings and farm system rankings out of the box. So instead of relying on the default lists, I’m going to manually evaluate, grade, and rank prospects and farm systems myself with a consistent approach and a clear update calendar.
Side note: I’ll be serving as the GM of the Los Angeles Dodgers (LAD) in this universe — but DiamondWire coverage will remain league-wide. (If anything, it’ll be fun to see if I can keep my own bias in check.)
DiamondWire Release Schedule (Prospects-Only)
DiamondWire runs on a straightforward yearly cycle built around the prospect calendar. The goal is to keep things consistent and easy to follow without constant ranking churn.
Opening Day Edition
Top 10 Prospects for every organization
DiamondWire Top 100 Prospects (league-wide)
This sets the baseline for the season.
In-Season Issues (Monthly) — Updates, Not Rankings
One issue each month focused on prospect news and development, not reshuffling lists:
Promotions/demotions
Breakouts and cold streaks
Injuries and rehab notes
Role changes (starter → reliever, position switches, etc.)
Standout performances across the minors
Rankings stay intact during the season unless there’s a major, season-altering development.
Draft Day Edition
Draft coverage and reactions
Team-by-team draft grades (who nailed it, who reached, who found value)
The best picks, steals, and fits
Post–Signing Period Update
(Once the signing period is complete)
Updated Top 10 for every organization
Updated DiamondWire Top 100
This is the major in-season refresh point where new additions and year-to-date developments are fully reflected.
End-of-Season Edition
Updated Top 10 for each organization
Updated Top 100 Prospects
This closes the book on the year and sets the stage for the next Opening Day cycle.
International Free Agent Spotlight (After the Final Issue)
After the end-of-season rankings drop, DiamondWire will publish a dedicated feature on the top IFA signings and what they mean long-term.
Then we roll right into the next year’s Opening Day Edition and restart the cycle.
If you’re into scouting, development, and debating rankings, you’re in the right place. Drop your sleepers, your “too low/too high” takes, and any prospects you want on my radar — DiamondWire is better when the comments are loud.
