CYL Players of the Month
NR Hitter - Marlborough Minigunners fans believe they've got a talented young star in Enjoyable Everett Dexter.
He did nothing to dissuade that notion in April, as he hit .402 with 24 home runs, 50 RBIs and 36 runs scored.
The end result was the left fielder being named the North Region Batter of the Month.
Thus far this season in 36 games, Dexter is batting .400 with 33 home runs, 65 RBIs and 50 runs scored. He has 48 hits in 120 at-bats.
SR Hitter - Wareham Comets fans may just have witnessed a star player blossoming before their eyes in April.
Joker Swan put up a remarkable month at the age of 17 and has been named the South Region Batter of the Month.
For the month, Swan hit .385 with 23 home runs, 47 RBIs and 32 runs scored.
Swan is hitting .362 this season with 25 home runs, 54 RBIs and 37 runs scored. He has 42 hits in 116 at-bats.
NR Pitcher - The #1 pitcher this past month in the North Region was Eagle Eye Hayes of the Marblehead Mess. He worked the hitters over real good, finishing April with a superb 8-1 record and a 1.13 ERA.
The Mess star made 9 starts and surrendered 49 hits in 71.2 innings. He struck out 116 and walked 19.
So far this season, Hayes has a record of 11-1 with 153 strikeouts and 21 walks in 95.1 innings and a 1.23 ERA.
SR Pitcher - In April when the West Quincy manager wrote the name "Carr" on the lineup card, he knew he had a good shot at winning. Start after start in the month, Sheridon Carr took the hill, took charge and usually got the win.
He dominated with a 7-1 mark and 1.47 ERA in 8 starts. The gifted Atomatoys star pitched 67.1 innings, fanned 79 and held opposing teams to a .182 average.
For his outstanding mound performance Carr was named the SR Pitcher of the Month by the baseball writers.
This year, Carr has recorded a 9-2 mark. In 12 starts he has fanned 111 batters in 98 innings with a 2.39 ERA.
