Cards news: July 29 -- Elbow strain will sideline SP Sean Hermann for up to four weeks
The St. Louis Cardinals have learned that right-handed starting pitcher Sean Hermann will miss from three to four weeks with a strained elbow he suffered while pitching in an 8-2 loss to the Cincinnati Reds on July 28.
It's been a rough season for the 29-year-old right-hander who in 21 starts is now 2-10 with a 5.00 ERA after taking the loss against the Reds.
Right-hander Osvaldo Berrios will be called up from AAA Memphis, where he has been a starting pitcher this season.
With the Redbirds, in 21 starts, Berrios is 0-9 with a 7.76 ERA.
He does have 72 games of MLB experience with St. Louis, all in relief, he owns a 2-2 record with two saves and a 4.19 ERA.
