Yes I think I saws some newspaper stuff on this Kid Demers. I believe the articles talked as if he was from that area so I discounted him as some other Kid Demers that may have been of a lesser weight? I could go back and double check though. Would make you wonder if the Kid Demers fighters agains McNaughton which one that is, but the one article I found and attached thus far said he was from Quebec/Canada so would believe he's our Babe Beattie Demers.
