MINERS DRUB EL PASO, TONY GONZALEZ HAS THE BEST DAY IN HISTORY!
The Pittsburgh Miners hammered El Paso 17-3 and in that game CF Tony Gonzalez did something never before seen. The 24 year old went 7-7 with a HR, scored 4 times and drove in 6 runs. No player has ever recorded 7 hits in a single game, much less a single 9 inning game.
The Miners tallied 21 hits and 11 walks. 19 of the 21 hits were singles.

On the last day in May Jay Hammer (SI) went 2-3 and his 6th inning 2B was his 2500 career hit. He's a career .308/.372/.454 hitter with 578 2B 108 3B 128 HR and 1026 RBI's with 1296 R and is 308-428 in SB. The 38 year old has led the league in H (1x) 2B (2x) 3B (4x) SB (1x) won two batting titles, led in OBP (1x) and WAR (1x).
He's a 4 time gold glove winner 8-time all star and a 5-time silver slugger.
