BMU, GBRL Regular Seasons End
The 88-game regular season for both the Boston Minor Union (A) and Greater Boston Rookie League (R) have come to a conclusion and the four division winners in each of the two minor leagues will begin their playoff pursuits.
Happy days are here for the playoff-bound teams. The Boston Minor Union regular season is over and the playoffs will soon get under way to determine the league's best team for 2317. The clubs are planning their lineups and pitching rotations, going over scouting reports, trying to glean bits of information that might give them the edge. Nothing is seemingly left to chance. It takes a lot of talent and sometimes a little luck to bring home the Boston Minor Series trophy.
The Boston Minor Union playoffs begin today with the Association Championship. For one lucky team, destiny is not far away. Soon one of the playoff teams will win the Boston Minor Series and be honored as the best of the best. In due time, they can have their parade, hoist up that championship banner, and celebrate. It will be the crowning glory of the 2317 season. Here are the clubs that will be in action today:
Bristol Blitz (DC) vs Melrose Eyebots (Qui) and Meriden Attack Dogs (Cam) vs DB Tech Nuclear Physicists.(Lex).
The 2317 Greater Boston Rookie League season has ended. Most clubs and most players are headed home for the year, but a few good teams will head to the playoffs, which are slated to start soon. They will get a chance to be the league's champion. All they have to do is win the Rookie Series -- a not-so-easy task. To win it takes a combination of good pitching, good defense and timely hitting -- and occasionally some lucky bounces of the ball.
With a championship to be decided, the Greater Boston Rookie League is filled with excitement. There's nothing like the thrill of the playoffs. There will be some career-defining moments played out in the coming days. There will be some heroes, some great plays, some blunders and some failures, but it will be a great time for fans. Playoff baseball is here and it gets underway today. The League Championship starts today with this slate of games:
Brattleboro Collectors (GS) vs Croup Manor Leprechauns (Nah) and Norwalk Pickpockets (JP) vs Woonsocket Butchers (Lex).
