Week 13: July 23-August 3

After being reminded on some other platforms about the existence of this universe, I suddenly have the itch to go back to Lokasi for a bit! We're about 2/3 of the way through the 2022 season at the moment.

Round 25:
....Sitache 2-3 Akashemo - 4-12, 5-6(13), 5-7, 5-1, 5-3
.....Lutrul 0-5 Mighty Oaks - 6-8, 2-4, 2-4, 1-7, 4-5
..Amnanache 2-3 National - 2-7, 1-6, 6-3, 5-7, 2-0
...Pasataki 3-2 Cheshek - 5-8, 3-6, 7-1, 10-9, 4-1
Otahel City 2-3 Keleri - 1-2, 7-4, 1-19, 4-2, 7-8
.....Kupore 4-1 Sh.Eagles - 4-3(10), 2-11, 9-5(10), 12-1, 4-2
.....Hokrof 1-4 Nokelto - 1-4, 0-2, 2-3, 3-7, 6-0
....Fampalo 1-4 Tsapna - 7-0, 2-3, 1-7, 3-4, 5-6
.....Kepmem 2-3 Westline - 3-8, 3-4, 3-2, 7-4, 3-6
...Mithazni 2-3 A.Spirits - 3-4, 3-6, 2-1, 1-2, 3-0

Keleri 19, Otahel City 1: In a half-week where not all that much happened that was noteworthy, a 19-run outburst especially stands out. Keleri scored in each of the first 7 innings, and had multiple runs in 6 of them, led by 2 HR and 5 RBI from relatively light-hitting shortstop Poem Solicha in the 2nd and 3rd innings. Otahel's SP Hoasimu Keshie didn't make it out of the 3rd... and only started pitching in the 2nd due to having an opener.

Nokelto 7, Hokrof 3: Nokelto SP Epencho Kemo will miss the remainder of 2022 and nearly all of 2023 after blowing out his elbow in the 6th inning of this win. It's been quite a frustrating year for the Scouts overall, with Kemo not really being deserving of his 3-11 win-loss record.

Tsapna 6, Fampalo 5: Reigning Pitcher of the Year Sefti Merefife left in the second inning of this win with an elbow strain, which will keep him out until mid-September. Merefife's win-loss record and ERA (10-8, 3.39) are not up to his typical standard this year, but he had been on pace for a career high in strikeouts. He'll still be expected to get 5-6 more starts by season's end, given the injury timetable is accurate.

Round 26:
..Sh.Eagles 1-4 Nokelto - 2-1, 4-6(10), 2-6, 5-7, 4-5
Otahel City 2-3 Sitache - 3-4, 8-13, 6-2, 8-11, 5-3
.....Kupore 4-1 Lutrul - 10-6, 5-4, 8-6(11), 2-6, 5-1
...National 2-3 Mighty Oaks - 3-4, 4-9, 3-1, 4-5, 11-10
.....Tsapna 1-4 Keleri - 12-5(10), 1-2, 1-3, 3-10, 1-2
....Fampalo 2-3 Kepmem - 3-4, 2-3, 4-9, 8-6, 5-4
.....Hokrof 2-3 Mithazni - 5-6, 4-2, 8-7, 7-8, 1-9
...Akashemo 2-3 Cheshek - 3-5(10), 5-7, 3-2, 7-9(10), 7-0
...Westline 2-3 A.Spirits - 5-9, 5-3, 15-14(11), 5-14, 2-8
..Amnanache 1-4 Pasataki - 2-3, 3-4, 6-9, 4-2, 5-6(10)

Mighty Oaks 4, National 3: It's an elbow epidemic. Oaks SP Tytsi Sofiulo suffered a career-ending elbow injury in the third inning of this titanically important series. Sofiulo, 27, was on the fourth and final year of his contract with the champs, having won two rings in that time. The sinkerballer finishes his career with 113 wins, 60 of those coming in Elite League play. Reliever Sakitsa Swyta, who came in for Sofiulo in the 3rd, also suffered a season-ending elbow injury in this game but will at least be back next season.

With all that said, the Oaks still won the game, and the series, extending their lead in the title race to six games with 60 to play. This was their final matchup of the season, with the overall season series being a 5-5 split.
