2022 Year in Review - Tiers 7-8
In tiers 7-8, the country is divided into 8 regions, roughly using a map that you can see in post #35 of this thread. There's not a direct correlation that determines which 7th-tier leagues ("Championships") promote into which 6th-tier leagues, but you can imagine there is a pretty stable flow between, say, the Northeast Championship and Northeast League Two.
I'm gonna forgo trying to come up with something interesting to say about each league, because that turned out to be really difficult for tier 6.
Tier 7: Regional Championships
Tier 7 is perhaps the level where the widest talent gap exists - there are players here that would be playable for EL teams, just very sparsely. For example,
Yahofel Thunderbolts SS Kotsashu Lutsolo would be an average Elite League shortstop, with no real weaknesses in his game, good personality traits, and a strong defensive profile. But he's here, tearing up the Northwest Regional Championship instead, with 13.6 WAR, an OPS over 1.100, 49 HR and 95 RBI in 120 games, while being under contract through 2026.

3-way tie for the league championship here, so it goes to run differential, where brutally, Shahinu advance by a single run over Foso City (+60 to +59). Unfortunately there's no in-game way for me to tell teams what the tiebreakers are, so Foso had no idea that they were about to not be promoted - the in-game standings actually listed them first.

Tier 8: Regional Leagues
In tier 8, only the top team is promoted, and only the last-place team is relegated. I feel that this helps to bridge the gap between the effectively-amateur state leagues and the more professionalized nationwide and regional leagues, so that teams don't get promoted or relegated too fast. Still, teams from this level can rocket up the pyramid over time - Meka BC was promoted from the Northwest League in 1993, and they're about to join the Elite League for 2023.
Relegated tier 8 teams open up a space for a team from their state's state leagues, so I've noted which states they play in:

The best state league team this season was Lokile BC (Lokile, EE), with a 52-8 record in the Efiro state league, but Restafo BC (Restafo, EE) avoided relegation from the Southern Regional League, instead allowing the Shennika Sparks to be promoted from Tsawemoko with a much worse record!
