In that article it mentions that Roy fought under the name Joe Plouffe in the "Granite" state. Believe that is New Hampshire.
I see BoxRec's listing for Armand Roy, ID# 104174 lists fights from 1940 to 1946 and his residence as Manchester, N.H.
There is also in BoxRec a listing for a Joe Plouffe, ID# 755128, 5 fights all in 1939 for this heavyweight fighter with residence shown as Waterbury, Conn.
The articles found form Fitchburg Sentinel paper on the fights with Joe Piesta/Piasta reference Roy as being from Fitchburg?
I got to wonder if Roy and Plouffe in BoxRec are the same fighter. Will do some more looking at that as now I'm intrigued to find out!

I found a short piece in The Brattleboro Reformer, Sat, Aug 24, 1940, about Armand Roy coming into town withe news there that he was fighting some bouts in Worcester, MA. Trying to drum up more competition? The Article starts with "Armand Roy (Battling Joe Plouff to you)"....
