January 2023 Transactions
January 2:

Former Semyof SP
Tosolefi Loap signs with Cheshek, 6 years/$39 million. He was quite good in Semyof's promotion campaign, finishing 4th in the ERA race, 3rd in strikeouts and only behind his teammate Tusehu Wamia in wins with 23. Despite making a league jump, he could conceivably be Cheshek's Opening Day starter.
January 3:

Semyof acquires
SP Mafuke Yshetsea from the Aroketsil Spirits, for relief pitcher Yipomo Wesiti. Don't love this for the Spirits (with the caveat that there's plenty of offseason left). The rotation has long been a weak point.
January 6:

An interesting trade - the Spirits trade swingman
Like Seafofis to Kupore for
LF Selo Sisilu. Seafofis goes right into the Kupore rotation, while Sisilu will replace the departed LF Lia Tsesahem, who has dropped down to tier 3 after a disappointing 2022. Another potential starting pitcher departs the Spirits.
January 21:
SP Katelo Measi has signed with Meka for 7 years, $24 million. The 24-year-old has exclusively pitched in tier 3 of the pyramid so far in his 8 year career, but is probably a capable back-end starter. Meka might need him for more than that though.
January 31:
SP Risei Late, who has been carving up tiers 5-7 with the Mokayoron Raiders for the past 9 years, signs with Cheshek for 4 years, $35 million. He only ever made a total of about $2.5 million in all his time in Mokayoron, so this is nice. While he has never pitched for another team professionally, Late does actually have an Elite League championship ring next to his name, from his time as a Mighty Oaks prospect.
Not much else happening, with most of the big free agents signed. The best free agent remaining is definitely former Fampalo SS Wyku Tofpalts, the EL's WAR leader in 2021 and 2nd-place MVP finisher.
