Game 1: Easy Town 4, Quincy 1
Sole Survivor Series Game 1 Victory for Williams and Easy Town
The Easy Town Assaultrons started the Sole Survivor Series in style, downing the visiting Quincy Granites at Easy Town Field by a score of 4-1 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Assaultrons left-hander Cohort Williams threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball.
Easy Town catcher Bill Barnes helped the Assaultrons go up, 2-0, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Barnes hit a 2-run single off Quincy pitcher Make Money.
"Cohort [Williams] is tough to beat when he's hitting his spots," said Easy Town manager Malik Christmasstory.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Easy Town Field in Easy Town.
Game 2: Quincy 3, Easy Town 1
Quincy Win Evens Series at 1
Behind a bravura effort from starter Kid Boots Appling, the Quincy Granites topped the Easy Town Assaultrons by the score of 3-1 and got their first win in the 2317 Sole Survivor Series. Appling threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the Granites. The win moves Quincy into a 1-1 tie with Easy Town.
Dodge Squallbender, who is rated as the 4th best prospect by BNN, had a direct impact on the outcome. Squallbender contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Quincy up, 2-1.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Appling.
The next game is set to be played for Sunday, September 30th, 2317 at The Stone House in Quincy.
