The St. Louis Cardinals have named Peter Bendix as their assistant general manager.
The 48-year-old Bendix served as the general manager of the Miami Marlins from 2025 to 2033.
They made the playoffs in the 2030, 2031 and 2032 seasons, including a World Series win in 2031.
But Bendix was allowed to leave after the Marlins struggled to a 72-90 finish this season.
He replaces A.J. Preller, who had been with the team since 2028.
Preller, 56, led the Cardinals to three playoff berths in his six season.
But the team had missed the playoffs the last two years, including a 75-87 last place finish this season.
His last playoff team, in 2031, had snuck into the postseason with an 82-80 record.
