June 22-24, 2035: vs San Diego (3)

Game 1: 3-2 W. WP-Buckman (8-3, 5.1 2 0 0 3 7). S-Whitehead (7). The Rays took their fifth straight one-run win, although this time it was only a one-run game because Whitehead gave up a pair of runs in the 9th before holding on for the save. Buckman was brilliant and Haro was 3-4 with an RBI double.

Game 2: 5-3 W. WP-Najera (10-1, 7 2 2 2 1 9). S-D.Gonzalez (2). HR-Pino (16). Star 2B Pino is having a miserable year hitting in the .210s but came up big tonight with a grand slam in a 5-run 6th to give the Rays the win. Najera meanwhile suffered the shocking sight of giving up a 2-run homer in the 2nd, the first he's allowed in 10 starts going back to early May but that's all he gave up and his ERA is still below 1 at 0.96.

Game 3: 5-3 W
. WP-Lennon (6-7, 6 7 3 3 1 6). S-Whitehead (8). Tampa Bay pulled off another sweep and extended its win streak to 8 games with today's triumph. Backup C Jalen Lowe, hitting a paltry .152 coming in, drove in 3 with a pair of doubles and Gurrola plated the other two runs with a two-bagger of his own.

Team record: 48-29
. At the same time the Rays have reeled off 8 wins in a row the Orioles have lost 7 straight and what was barely a week ago a 3-team jumble atop the AL East is now a whopping 7-game Tampa Bay lead over both Boston and Baltimore.
