Sometimes the name might have a slight variation in the name than what’s on the photo. For example the game might have J. R. Richard while the photo might have J R Richard. Or the photo may have Pete Rose Sr. while the game just has Pete Rose. Once in a while one may have a nickname and the other his real name. Also something like Jr may be after his last name in one and might should be after his first name.
When a picture is missing need to check what’s in the editor vs what is on the photo and if there is a discrepancy need to change one or the other. Hope that helps some.

PS as far as the player function only showing 1000 files. I could be wrong but there should be a filter button near the top of that screen and if you tap that and then type in the players first or last name (I don’t remember which), everyone close to that name should pop up.
