Immersive and fun? Yeah. I think some would think it got too repetitive. What it would do is let the user know straight away that an AI pitching change was being made. OOTP has a way of sneaking in a reliever without the user noticing, ie there is only the little asterisk as a visual cue. With the animation the user hits a button to complete the AB as normal. Instead of the pitch coming the manager pops out of the dugout and makes the change. The user is now back to completing the AB. **
It has been proposed by other users that a popup box (similar to what is used when an injury forces a substitution) should be added for any substitutions during a played out game be it relief pitcher, pinch hitter, or defensive sub. While your suggestion would work nicely for a RP, for a PH/D-Sub not so much. Doesn't mean I'm against it. It's just that I'm for an "all substitution" announcement. Of course they could do a mound animation for RP and a popup for PH/D-Sub.
**Someone will argue "it's adding more clicks". But at least both a mound animation and substitution popup will add a keystroke or click. A small price to pay to have the subs announced IMHO.
