Cards news: June 1 -- Team awards for May
Player of the Month: Cutter Coffey -- The 30-year-old third baseman hit .295 with three home runs, 15 RBIs and eight runs scored in 22 games. He got on base at a .360 clip and slugged .508.
Starting Pitcher of the Month: Thomas White -- Named the National League pitcher of the Month, the 29-year-old left-hander went 5-1 in six starts with a 3.03 ERA. He pitched a total of 35.2 innings, during which he struck out 37 and had a 1.37 WHIP.
Relief Pitcher of the Month: Alberson Ventura -- The 28-year-old right-hander got into eight games. He didn't post any decisions or saves but had a 0.82 ERA over 11.0 innings. He struck out 16 and had a 0.91 WHIP.
