The 1902 image I have of Bemis comes from an alternate composite of 1902 where he is clean shaven. Additionally I am aware of two team photos of the 1902 Indians. One is of the team in their home white uniforms, the other in their dark blue road uniforms. In the home uniform image Bemis is again clean shaven located on the left of the middle row. In the road uniform image below I do not have confirmation where Bemis is located but I would speculate he is on the left of the bottom row. Irrespective note all the players are clean shaven and I suspect Bemis is included in the image. I would be most grateful if anyone has the identifications of the players shown in the road team photo.
The caption at the bottom of the composite states that the player photos were taken in New Orleans (where the Cleveland team was training that spring). The collars look very similar, except for being turned up or turned down, so I believe the players were all in the same uniform--a 1901 Cleveland home uniform. I've attached below an image from the Cleveland Press of March 31, 1902, of the players in this uniform while in New Orleans. Bemis is in the back row, and appears to have a mustache.
