The issue I am thinking is going to happen here is...when i plug the drive into other computers...the drive letter may or may not be the same each time. It may be D or E depending on the computer being used. Will this be an issue?

Basically, get the FastSpring version of the game.
Then download the single-folder installer and use that (as the other folks above have suggested).
I've done this myself on multiple computers before and haven't noticed any issues. The drive letters changing shouldn't matter.
