June 27

What a week for the Phillies- we won all six games, making nine straight overall, and are 44-32 overall, just a game and a half back in the division.

June 20: Phillies 5, Pirates 3. Pete Incaviglia had three hits, includes a two-run homer, to pace the offense. Tommy Greene pitched well enough to win, with Heathcliff Slocumb, David West and Doug Jones holding the Pirates scoreless in relief.

June 21: Phillies 6, Pirates 5. Bobby Munoz was solid until giving up five runs in the sixth inning to allow the Pirates to take the lead. But a two-run homer by Milt Thompson the following inning put the Phillies in front, and the Phillies' bullpen was superb yet again.

June 22: Phillies 7, Pirates 3. Incaviglia, Ricky Jordan and Mariano Duncan all homered in the win. Curt Schilling pitched 6 2/3 scoreless innings to get the victory.

June 24: Phillies 7, Braves 4. Lenny Dykstra homered and doubled, driving in four runs. Danny Jackson went six to get the win, and Jones picked up his eighteenth save.

June 25: Phillies 5, Braves 4 (11 innings). Ryan Klesko's homer off Larry Andersen in the eighth inning tied the score. A meltdown by Mark Wohlers led to a walk-off win, as with two outs he allowed a single, then walked three consecutive batters.

June 26: Phillies 15, Braves 7. This was a wild one- the Phillies scored six runs in the second, then allowed the Braves to pull within one, then put up eight in the eighth to make it a laugher. The teams combined for 37 hits, and seven Phillies had multi-hit games, led by Wes Chamberlain with five. Darren Daulton hit his ninth homer and drove in six runs.
