That 36-team configuration is much easier to work with than the 34-team. What I envision 44 division games (9 games against 4 teams and 8 against the other), 72 interdivision games (6 games against all 12 teams), and 46 interleague games (2 games against 8 team, 3 games against 10 teams). That would start on Friday instead of Wednesday, but could otherwise be structured similarly with All-Star Game at same time.

When you play everybody with this many teams it does not leave many games of the 162 for division. There are ways to get more division games by having some interdivision opponents played only in one series rather than two and/or by cutting more interleague series from 3-game to 2-game. If you prefer either of those, let me know.

Edit: Oh, I notice you are not the OP. So if you wanted the All-Star Break at a different time (the 34-team case is a little earlier than what MLB does now) that is doable, and other adjustments could be possible.
