1947 Landis Millers – Spring Training Update
Boone Tucker’s club played like it was trying to collect the NCSL pennant before the regular season even began. The Millers won 13 of 18 exhibition games, a far cry for the previous spring when the team won just four times.
In the spring exhibition finale against Statesville, Landis belted the Owls 15-6, pounding out 20 hits and playing flawless defense (no errors). Newcomer Chris Latter (OF) went 4-for-4 with 2 runs to cap off a .355 spring.
The “Win Now!” chants are growing big time in Landis, NC. Let’s go!
