He broke into the majors with St. Louis in 2031 and enjoyed a good amount of success.

From the Angels, the Cardinals have received a pair of second basemen -- Sean Malatesta and Steve Sims -- and starting pitcher Craig Mikulas.
Malatesta, 24, has played most of the season at AAA Salt Lake, hitting .285 with 14 home runs and 44 RBIs in 63 games/61 starts.
He also got into 11 games with the Angels, during which he hit .250 with one home run and six RBIs.
Over 53 games/51 starts, Malatesta is a .230 hitting with five home runs and 25 RBIs.
A former second-round pick in the 2034 draft by Los Angeles, the 21-year-old Sims has spent this season at High-A playing in 66 games/65 starts during which he has hit .242 with five home runs and 29 RBIs.
Taken in the fifth round of the 2035 draft, Mikulas, 22, has gone a combined 3-5 with a 4.43 ERA in 15 starts at A and AA.
