I wouldn't mind having the ability to restrict callups in some way.
Ideally the way I play I'd like to split up the manager delegation options so that my assistant can continue the standard minor promotions while I handle who/when players leave the complex. Those 16/17 kids rarely have any business being in rookie ball.
