Transaction: With Brice Matthews continuing to not hit, we needed a 2B so we went outside the organization and signed veteran Nico Hoerner, who was surprisingly out of a job. Matthews was sent back to Durham and to make room on the 40-man Mason Englert was DFA'd.

Two of the top teams in the AL battled in a playoff-like series in which a grand total of nine runs combined was scored by the teams with Tampa Bay fortunate to prevail in two of the games.
