SP Mike Melchor has pitched well, and going with the theme of last year, he does not see the rewards in the W-L column.

SP Masahiro Takiuchi continues to find success by not allowing walks, suppressing home runs, and getting batters to drill the ball into the ground.

SP Fred Steward had an excellent month, despite pitching in and out of trouble. His walk rate is troubling, but he's gotten away with it by not allowing a single HR in the month. That's not sustainable.

SP Dave Angeli also had a good first month to his career, again despite the high walks. He's kept the ball on the ground, which has helped him get out of most jams. Time will tell if this is legit or smoke and mirrors.

SP Javier M Martinez Jr is not showing any development, despite the high potential. He's pitching very similarly to last year, which means he's barely hanging on to the 5th starter role.

ST David Heronemus has been the surprising performance of the season, so far. Injured all of last year, and not really having the stamina to start, he's thrived inthe stopper role ... racking up a 5-1 record (and leading the East in pitcher wins), and has pitched well.

CL Gauer has pitched well in his 6 saves. A key for Gauer has been the 0 HRA in 9 IP.

RP Dustin Chandler - if he's not in a jam, he'll pitch his way into one, but so far has pitched his way out of them. Not likely sustainable. Like some others, he's pitching to keep his ML role.

ST Ross Stevens has been pretty solid, and the team needs him to be a dominant bullpen force, particularly vs LHBs.

RP Mario De La Cruz has been a solid long relief piece. He's not dominant, but he's solid enough.

ST Tony Harris has been a mixed bag. The MVO of last year's bullpen is dominant when he's not allowing the longball, but he's been allowing the longball ... 3 HRA in 9 games. He cannot do that.
