Wofford fought as a trial horse mainly in the South. He presented a decent workout generaly taking his opponent to the final bell. Danny did have one phoney title shot. The WBS sanctioned a bout between Wofford and Mitch Green to crown their Super Heavyweight Champion. Wofford dropped the "title" fight to Green by way of a twelve round decision.
Some of his notable opponents include Joe Hipp, Orlin Norris, Alex Stewart, Oliver McCall, Michael Dokes, Bonecrusher Smith, Pinklon Thomas, Shannon Briggs, Trevor Berbick, Michael Grant and Tim Witherspoon.
EDIT:
Just a note about my stiff creation methodology. With some of these guys, I just rated them so they would almost always drop in the first few rounds. Some had a little tweaking based on some aspect that came through in their record. If you want to tweak them further, ok but I can't imagine what you would want to do with them. A guy like Wofford is a different case.
I ran 5 sets of 900 bout tests which is far more than I useualy do. I ran 100 each against 5 decent opponents (McCall, Grant, et cetera) and 4 sets of 100 each against other stiffs (a few that he actualy fought) I was able to get his stoppage-to-loss ratio at about 20% which is just about right. However, he consistantly wins 20 to 25% of his bouts which is too high. No matter what I did, I could not get his win% and stoppage-to-loss% to both come out correct. I decided that for Wofford, it was more meaningful to ensure that he would go the distance at an appropriate rate when facing fair to better-than-average boxers while still losing almost all the time. I just decided to live with the extra wins he will collect over weak competition.
I would be interested if anyone thinks differently about the ratings.
