Sal,

I was very interested in you rating of Andre Tessier, as I was born in Springfield and saw him fight. He was very strong, with Gene Fullmer type strength. Although he was a slugger, he like to work behind a very good left jab. In his fight with Rory Calhoun in NY, the Times commented on how good his jab was. His problem was if his jab was off then he did not perform as well as usual even thought he was basically a slugger. He had a descent chin; most of the fights he failed to last the distance were do to cuts. When he got his opponent on the ropes, he liked to use uppercuts to straighten them up. I don't believe he ever took the 10 count, although he was dropped on several occasions.

Our Ratings differed in the following areas;

You Me
Control B/S 8/8 6/6
Chin kd/ko 4/3 3/2
Agg 8 7
End 8 9

Def/FS 2/2 1/1
DP/Cond 2/3 4/1 (He could pack them in at Holyoke Valley Arena)

Int/Pro 6/10 5/10
FI/FO 2/2 3/1
Cu 1 2
CL 72 68
Foul Occ Sel

Jabs 25/3 20.25/0
Hooks 14/3 21/.25/0
Cross 24/4 19.0/3.75
Comb 13/2 17.25/3.75
Up 10/2 14.75/0

P/CP 38/36 35/35
PM/OR 64/4 64/5

Your Jabs and hooks are more accurate as he didn't use a left hook that much. He tried to back up his opponents with a jab and then use right crosses and right uppercuts to finish the fight.
