Importing rookies on draft year
Is it possible to import rookies based on the year they were drafted/signed rather than their debut year? Rather not have guys drafted and go right to the majors hitting 20HR because they did some Ryan Howard (Fred Lynn) type thing. There should be some "development" time.
Also, how many teams do you suggest for a reality-28 team league? 20? 30? the obvious 28? Do things get too deep or thin that way? (no one wants to start Tim Foli, even the Expos) BTW starting a 1975(ish) and on re-sim, if you are interested, email me (in the profile). Probably have 10-15 owners already locked up from another league. Last edited by Mosey; 10-07-2006 at 04:18 PM. |

Since you're apparently being ignored by the people who actually know the answers to these questions, you've just defaulted down to hearsay (by which I mean, me).
According to a thread adjacent to yours in this section of the forum, Ankit/Gambo has a version (or a couple of versions) of their roster list that imports players based on their draft year, or first fairly complete year in the minors. Also apparently, there are Ankit/Gambo versions which do not, so be careful which ones you download. Based on PMs I've exchanged with Arod and Garlon, if you're using their roster lists, you should be able to support a 28 team league, with about five guys per team left over to be in faux minors. You will NOT be able to support even one level of 'actual' minor leagues, either with their rosters or most others. There is a roster set out there that includes some minor league players, with more being added all the time, but the name of it escapes me. bp probably knows. edit: Probably Cubby's.
