Scoring Error: Unearned Run
The game, as it has in several situations in the past in whicH I have complained, has incorrectly scored an unearned run. Here is my situation:
No outs, runner on third. The batter hits a fly ball to the CF warning track. The CF drops the ball on the track for a two base error (batter makes 2B), runner scores from third. The game incorrectly scores the run as unearned and the batter is incorrectly credited as reaching base via error, thus hurting his BA. THe proper way to score such a play is to credit the batter with a sacrifice fly despite the error, because he did his job. He also should get an RBI. The runner from third is an earned run. Please, guys, things like this need to be fixed for statistical accuracy.

Doesn't it all depend on what the next two hitters did? If they both got out, then there should be three outs, and there's no guarantee that he would've scored from third if he had caught the ball, for all we know it could've been very shallow. Just my thoughts.

In most parks the warning track shouldn't count as particularly shallow.
