Error! The loading of the database failed. It is either corrupt or a save-game from an old version.

Hello,
I recently joined online league and bought OOTP Baseball 2007 to play this online league. However, I haven't been able to load the league files yet. Each time I go into into OOTP and try to load the league folder CCBL.lg. I get this message:

Error! The loading of the database failed. It is either corrupt or a save-game from an old version.

I have read as many threads as I could find about this error and I have tried anything that was suggested or I could think. Including,

-Unistalling and reinstalling the game
-Installing the lastest patches...I'm currently updated to version 2.0.3.68
I installed the previous patch before I installed this one.
- I have tried to unzip the with any with several differ program, including 7-zip, PowerArchiver2007, Winace, Winzip & WinRAR.
- I have downloaded the league zip file from the league website
http://ccblsim.com/imports<wbr>/CCBL.lg.tar.gz and unziped into the CCBL.lg folder in saved_games and have also had into sent to me via email by the league commissioner. However still no luck!

I will try to FTP the file so somebody can take a look in technical support.

Please let me know what's going on with this...I am getting frustrated because I spent 35 bucks and cannot enjoy the online league! Thanks in advance.

find out what version of the game the league is using, acording to thier website http://ccblsim.com/rules.shtml They are still on OOTP6 (version 6.51 with all latest patches.) so you having 2007 won't be able to play in that league. You have to have the same version as the league you are playing in, and it looks like they are still using 6.51. you should contact the league owner to find out why he wanted you to buy that version or have better comunication with that league on what version of the game they are using.

They are running OOTP Baseball 2007. The site http://ccblsim.com/rules.shtml says OOTP 6. However, when I emailed to join the league I was informed that they have recently updated to OOTP Baseball 2007 with the lastest patches. I unzipped the files into Frank\Documents\Sport Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2007\data\saved_games\CCBL.lg in the Documnets folder. I am using Windows Vista Home Edition if that of any importance. I would try to FTP you the files to someone, but don't know how to.

From the initial email from the league commissioner:
Frank,

The Red Sox are certainly available, and we would love to have you in
the league. However, we have recently moved from 6.5 to OOTP 2007. Due
to complexities of 2007, game ownership is a must. If you have 2007 or
are willing to purchase it and still want to join us, the team can be yours.

Either way, just let me know.

Thanks,

Michael

This is the email about loading the file:

Frank,

The team is yours. Congratulations, and welcome to the league. Once
you have purchased OOTP2007, here is what you need to do to get the
league up and running:

To download the file, click here:

http://ccblsim.com/imports/CCBL.lg.tar.gz

If you are unsure how to handle the file, download it and unzip it with
PowerArchiver, 7-zip, etc. Winzip might work with this, too. Unzip it
to the following folder:

Sports Interactive/OOTP Baseball 2007/data/saved_games/CCBL.lg

The location of the Sports Interactive folder is dependent on where you
initially installed the game. You will need to create the CCBL.lg
folder before unzipping the file within it. Once you get the league set
up, there will be a "Load Online League File" option in the Game menu.
This will automatically go out and get the latest league file for you.

If you have any questions on it, please let me know.

Welcome to the league!

Michael

find out what patch version they are on, the patch did just come out last week, and so they may still be on 2.53 and not the newest 2.63. every owner of the game must be on the same version for it to work. You need to find out from them what version they are useing.

I am not sure what version right now. I will email the commissioner. However, I just installed 2.63 last night and I had the same problem while it was updated to 2.53. Thanks.

Check to see if there is a double folder issue. Double click your CCBL.lg folder inside the saved_games folder. Is there another CCBL.lg folder inside there? If so, that is your problem. Drag that deep CCBL.lg folder to your Desktop. Delete the CCBL.lg folder in the saved_games folder. Then drag the CCBL.lg folder from your Desktop to the saved_games folder.

Hello,

Just wanted to see if there is an update on this issue. This has happened with a couple of my saved games, and wanted to know if they are unrecoverable.

As the original poster has not responded in some time, this thread will be closed for housekeeping reasons. I'm sorry that we were never able to come to a conclusion on this issue. If you have any more information that might help lead to a solution, please don't hesitate to post in Tech Support.
