Macintosh -- "Finalizing" when loading a game never ends
I've had the game installed for a number of months and have been able to play games, create new games, etc. Last night, I lost the ability to play an existing game. I can launch the program select the game to load, it reads the files, and then goes to a "Loading Database Finalizing..." screen that it never exits.
Similarly, I can create a new game, start the draft, save the game, tell the computer to finish the draft and it again gets into this state where it completes the draft, but evidently doesn't write the files out. It eats CPU and keeps taking VM. I've deleted the application and reinstalled/patched and am back at 2.0.3.68 but still have the problem. Nothing in any logs. Do you know what might be happening and how to fix it? Else, how can I totally uninstall and start from scratch? Thanks. |

You can try uninstalling and deleting the Application Data folder, if you want to be absolutely sure. Admittedly, I don't know where to find it on a Mac. In XP, it's found at C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2007 . That doesn't sound like the problem, however.
Did you try simply shutting down and restarting your computer at some point after you started having trouble? How much available hard drive space do you have? Last edited by Nutlaw; 05-18-2008 at 10:38 AM. |

rebooted/6.89 Gig free space
Yes, I've re-installed after rebooting and currently have 6.89 Gig free space.
On a Macintosh, the application installs itself by default into /Applications. The Application Data files are at /Applications/OOTP Baseball 2007/data. I've run disk utilities on the hard drive and repaired permissions on this drive as well. I'll try removing my saved games from data directory as I'd have expected the default files to have been overwritten during the re-install. |

all fixed
Well, I don't know what it was. I copied my saved games directory elsewhere and deleted the entire OOTP directory -- app, data, saved games, etc.
Reinstalled. Copies my saved games back. All seems to be working fine. Don't know what it was, but I'm guessing that one of the files in the data directory must have been trashed and was causing the application to hang. I'm back up. Thanks. |
