Released players in pre first sim trades

hi, posting on behalf of my commish...who is having some issues prior to first real sim in oopt11.

He went to process about 15 trades that had been made before we got going. Only 6 of them have gone through...and in all the others players on one half of the deal have been released to free agency (in the other half of the deal they stayed on their original teams rosters)...

Any thoughts or ideas on how this can happen would be apprciated, thanks

After processing trades, your commish should sim at least one calendar day. This will prevent the game from importing old exports, which can sometimes reverse or remove players that would have been on the team post-trade.

When a salaried player is traded he goes to the new teams DFA box, and there is a key Commish Portal setting that says "Demote/release players with DFA time of X days or less". This setting includes a box to allow the commish to set how many days ('X') the player is allowed to stay in the DFA box. If that box is checked for an online league, and the commish sims beyond the days listed then any recently traded player still in a teams DFA box will automatically be released by the game.

Depending on what rules the online league uses, it might be advisable for online leagues to keep that Commish Portal setting unchecked. If it is unchecked there is no danger of the game releasing DFA players. This gets complicated if the league uses full waivers rules though. In that case the league needs to design a sim schedule to accommodate whatever DFA box time they use, and owners have to be on the ball to manually assign all their new trade acquisitions to a team before the leagues next sim.

Hope that makes some sense!
