A New Start for Baseball Around the World

After reading some of the threads around the board and discovering that you can merge leagues I decided to start a fictional reboot of baseball around the world. My league begins in 1871 with some of the early leagues from the U.S. I started each league approximately in the year it began, and with the correct teams (when available, some later international leagues were hard to find). What I didn't do, was contract any leagues or disband any teams. I allowed League Evolution to take over from the beginning with a little help from my end - occasionally merging some of the historically defunct leagues into larger leagues to continue to compete.

The beginning:

I began in 1871 with 4 leagues (technically some of these began a few years later, but I decided to jump start them a bit early):

National League
Louisville Grays
New York Mutuals
Chicago White Stockings
Philadephia Athletics
Hartford Dark Blues
Boston Red Stockings
Cincinnati Reds
St. Louis Brown Stockings
Worcester Ruby Legs (technically didn't join until 1880, but they're a local team for me so I decided to let them be there from the beginning)
American Association
Louisville Eclipse
Indianapolis Hoosiers
Toledo Blue Stockings
Brooklyn Atlantics
New York Metropolitans
Pittsburgh Alleghenys
Richmond Virginians
Washington Statesmen
Baltimore Orioles
Columbus Buckeyes
Union League
Wilmington Quicksteps
Baltimore Monumentals
St. Paul Saints
Boston Reds
Kansas City Cowboys
Chicago Browns
Cincinnati Outlaws
Altoona Mountain City
Philadelphia Keystones
St. Louis Maroons
Washington Nationals
Milwaukee Brewers
Players League
Chicago Pirates
Cleveland Infants
Buffalo Bisons
New York Giants
Brooklyn Wonders
Pittsburgh Burghers
If you are looking for a historical recreation, stop reading now. As you can already see, I took some liberties - picking and choosing which teams to include, starting leagues a bit early, etc. If you just have an interest in how leagues evolve and watching a universe of baseball grow over more than a century, then please follow along.

I wasn't sure at first if I'd actually keep this universe going, so I didn't post anything here until 1906. Over the next few posts I'll try to play catch up with the pertinent information for each league.

Hope this is interesting to someone, I have never really created a dynasty thread before.
