I used an AI photo generator to create a real pic from card and SI style article of his history.

I entered the in-game pic of my pitcher into Dezgo's free, stable diffusion based, AI image generator. I asked it to enhance it and make it 4k resolution, photorealistic, in a baseball card style. I then entered his history and no hitter game recap into Chatgpt and asked it to write an SI style article about him and here are the results.

Valades Tosses No-Hitter Against Melbourne

Melbourne Park witnessed an unforgettable spectacle as Hong Kong Pegasus' star pitcher, Luis Valades, weaved a spellbinding no-hitter against the formidable Melbourne Aces. The crowd held their breath as Valades displayed pure magic on the mound, leading his team to a resounding 5-0 victory.

But the story of this remarkable achievement goes beyond this single game. It's a testament to the journey and development of a young talent who rose through the ranks, honing his skills and transforming into one of the most feared pitchers in the World Baseball League (WBL).

Valades' baseball journey began on April 16, 2033, when he signed a minor league contract out of the Dominican Republic with the Hong Kong Pegasus organization. From there, his potential was recognized by OSA scouting, which updated his ratings to reflect his growth and promise. With each passing year, Valades' numbers improved, and he climbed the ranks of the WBL prospect rankings, capturing the attention of fans and scouts alike.

The 2035 season marked a significant turning point for Valades as he was named the 83rd, then the 45th, and later the 21st prospect in the WBL. The scouting reports reflected his growing potential, with his Stuff, Movement, and Control ratings on a steady rise. As the 2036 season rolled around, Valades continued to impress, ascending to the 35th, then the 25th, and finally the 15th prospect in the league.

It was evident that Valades' potential was transforming into tangible results when he received a promotion from the international complex to Class A Aberdeen on February 25, 2037. His remarkable journey continued, and on May 6, 2037, Valades pitched a two-hit shutout against the Sango Jammers, leaving a trail of 12 strikeouts in his wake.

By June 28, 2037, Valades had cemented his place as the top prospect in the WBL, capturing the attention of fans and experts with his awe-inspiring performances. As he climbed the ranks, accolades followed suit. He was named the 10th prospect in the league in 2037, received a one-year contract renewal worth $560,000 in 2038, and won the WBL CBL Rookie of the Month Award the same year.

With each passing season, Valades' skills continued to sharpen. His ratings soared to new heights, with his Stuff, Movement, and Control potential increasing significantly. Strikeout records became a common occurrence for Valades as he etched his name in the record books, including a remarkable 15-strikeout game against the Rio de Janeiro Crusaders on April 22, 2039.

Valades' crowning achievement came on October 29, 2039, when he helped lead the Hong Kong Pegasus to a World Series victory. The jubilation of that moment was further magnified when he was honored with the prestigious WBL CBL Cy Young Award on November 12, 2039.

As the 2040 season arrived, Valades' reputation preceded him. He was recognized as one of the premier pitchers in the league and was named to the 2040 World Baseball League All-Star Game. On June 15, 2040, Valades once again etched his name in history, pitching a no-hitter against the Pyongyang Sports Club, capturing the imagination of baseball fans around the world.

And now, just a few weeks later, Valades has achieved the unthinkable once again. On August 28, 2040, he hurled another no-hitter, this time against the Melbourne Aces

This is great, I've played around with it writing recaps and scouting players, etc. I think you could see a path of OOTP using AI to have even more immersive summaries and character events in future versions.

Reading more and more about the cost of a AI query, that's likely not feasible as much as I'd love it.

Best case is that it generates .txt files of box scores, game summaries, weekly, monthly, annual events, prospect stats and ratings, pitching staff and hitter stats, salaries, contract statuses, standings and relevant player contexts. The list could go on and would take some input on what the community would like to use Chat GPT on its own for. Depending on toggles the user selects and frequency the reports are asked for, the user could then just cut and paste the info into ChatGPT and ask it to do something in a particular style.

Integrating AI seems a bridge too far atm and at the current price point but generating, all in one txt file, the information that could generate a wealth of ChatGPT outputs, seems easy.

I just can't wait for 2-4 years from now when something as powerful as GPT-4 can run on your own desktop. There are already local LLM's that come close to GPT-3.5 you can run with 30 series NVIDIA GPUs.

I don't think AI will have a large impact in something like OOTP, but for game recaps and news stories it could definitely help in the future for sure.
