OOTP Cannot Load Database.....

Hello,

I am nearing the end of my season on OOTP23 and have loved every moment since I first bought into the franchise last year for OOTP22.

I have been playing all the games and have not had any issues, until today.

I cannot load my league/game and get the error message:

"OOTP cannot load this database because it has been created with an earlier version of OOTP. Please use the button Import OOTP 22 to import database."

I deleted OOTP 22 when I purchased OOTP 23. I did not import any files nor did I save anything from OOTP22. I have been playing right along all season with this same league without any issues.

Please help, a lot of time has gone into this and I don't want to lose it. I just cannot figure out what changed since I played yesterday etc.

Thank you!

That message will pop up if the save is corrupted. You should hopefully be able to restore from the autosave feature.

Restore from autosave instructions:

1) Open the game and on the start screen, click on Settings.

2) Now click on the tab "Troubleshooting".

3) Click "Open folder containing saved games".

4) Now open up the league folder you're wanting to restore.

5) Then select all of the .dat files in the folder and back them up (just in case) by copying them to a temporary folder or creating a zipped file with them

6) Open the folder called "auto-save".

7) In there, select all of the ".dat" files and copy them to the league folder (the parent of the current folder) overwriting all of the ".dat" files in the league folder.

8) Now start the game and load your league.

FWIW:

Did this. Found no .dat files except "text data." Copied all the .dat files from auto-save to the league folder.. Game still would not load; said "sqlite" was missing or corrupt, but offered an option to restore the last valid save. That worked, and in fact did not lose any games. Quite a relief since this league is in its 7th year..
