Hit and Run almost never works

I'm simming a previous season with my team. Every time I try to do a hit and run, the batter ALWAYS fouls the ball about 99.999999999999999% of the time. He keep doing this for about 5 more pitches or so then finally hits it fair only to either ground out, fly out, or pop out.

What's the purpose of having this play in the game if it never succeeds? I'm pretty sure in actuality it works 50% of the time in reality which twice as effective in those games than in this simulation as well as other earlier versions.

What should I change in my settings or how should I edit the players as I am managing the team and letting the computer handle general manager duties. I already have the team at a more agressive setting for hit and run situations and baserunning for all times and all scores.

Strange that you ALWAYS get a foul ball. When I tried calling hit and runs I ended up with a lot of swing and misses and a lot of runners thrown out. It seems the stolen base success rate on a swing and miss is about 33%.

I use Send Forced as a run-and-hit and have a very good success rate with it. 80% on steals. Occasional line out DPs (and one unassisted triple play), some foul balls, but also fewer ground-out DPs and lots of 1st-3rd on singles.

How often do you estimate the batter takes the pitch.

Well, I am not making this up. I tell you it always does this when playing on my computer. Maybe that's why? Different ports of the game have different hitting mechanics in terms of whether the player will put the ball in play or foul it off?
