Relievers - Warming Up/Ready/Tiring - is there a difference in performance?
**Sorry, posted this in the wrong place previously**
Not sure if this has been posted before...I try to manage each game as close to reality as possible, one batter at a time, but not pitch to pitch. When I put a reliever in the bullpen, they start as Cold, then get to Warming Up, then Ready and finally Tiring, depending on how long they're in the bullpen. Is there a performance downgrade if I put in a reliever Cold, Warming Up or Tired vs. Ready, or is it just "window dressing" to make it feel more real? Thanks! |

I always thought that auto-sit relievers were more realistic. Between bullpen catchers, bullpen coaches, or the pitcher's own common sense, they will stop warming up. This is just my opinion.
Warming up = the First batter or 2 won't be as effective. Ready = peak Tired = not very effective and downhill from there, not sure, but may also increase the chance of injury. If you use auto-sit, the pitcher will still be ready for a few more batters. And even if cold can usually hit ready quicker. Hope that helps.

IMO auto-sit was one of the best improvements to the game.
