Bug: Draft Pick Compensation?

Im in the middle of FA and a Type A player that played with my team in the season was signed by another team. I receive a 3rd Round Pick compensation. Then a Type C player that also played with me was signed by another team. I receive a 1st Round pick compensation.

Is that correct? I mean, I though Type A are higher (1st round) and Type C are lower.

You are right, Type A are the higher rated players and thus recieve the greater compensation (1st Round pick).

It might depend on how many type A free agents the other team has already signed. For example in real life if a team signs two type A free agents it obviously cannot give up two first round draft picks, therefore the team that lost the lower rated of the two free agents would get the teams second round pick instead of the first and so on for as many type A free agents as are signed by a team.

I have played 10+ seasons, and for every type A player I received 3rd rounders (Buck Freeman and Nap Lajoie most recently, but when I signed a middle reliever and paid him $300,000 I gave up a first rounder)....
