Getting Started With a Historical Sim
After reading Tiger Fan's blog recently I decided that one of the first things I'd like to do with the new version of the game is do a historical replay. However, I have no idea what all needs to be done to accomplish this. I know that I have to import the rosters from the DB, but other than that I'm somewhat lost. What settings do I alter? What leagues do I create? Basically, it'd be fantastic if someone had the time and could post a step-by-step guide to getting a historical replay going.

First step is to download the 5.3 comma-delimited version of the Lahman data base from this site:
http://baseball1.info/statistics/lahman53_csv.zip Once you download it unzip it into it's own folder somewhere outside of your main OOTP2006 directory. A great step-by-step guide can be found starting on page 65 of the detailed OOTP2006 game guide. Here is the link to download it: http://ootpdevfiles.com/ootp/OOTPBas...-GameGuide.zip If you have questions after you go through the guide let us know and myself or someone else will be glad to help you.

Use Ankit's database instead. Ankit > Lahman.
