Trade Deadlines for Winter Leagues

I starting creating a modified Cuban league and noticed that the trade deadline could only be placed from 1-01-06 to 12-31-06. I'd like to start my league in November and have the trade deadline be in February of the following year. There really isn't any purpose to having a year dropdown for the trade deadline if the only thing that'll pop up is 2006, is there? Actually, what is the point of having a year dropdown at all? I went ahead and picked Feb '06 to see what would happen and sure enough, the trade deadline passed nine months before the season began.
