2 Online Leauge Problems

This may be my computer or it may be my ftp host, but I'm having some issues with creating and uploading a league file to the internet.

1. When I create the report, anytime any window (IM/Chat window, Screen saver even) pops up in front of OOTP, the game freezes up and all creation progress is lost.

2. If I do manage to get the whole report created, I go to upload the report and after about 500 files, every file seems to be an upload error. Is there any way to fix this, or even just to see what the upload errors are in the first place?

Thanks for anyone who can help me with this.

FWIW, I've never been able to use the in-game upload to work. I use an FTP program to upload them (as do many).

I tried that, as well. Any time I clicked on the News-->HTML folder to go select all and upload, the FTP program froze. I've tried 2 different clients (SmartFTP and FileZilla) and the same thing happened in both.

It's better to zip the files and then just upload that single file, if you have the ability to unzip it on the server.

How do I check to see if I can unzip post-upload?

Any idea if your host has php installed? If so I have a small php script that will unzip it for you. My AIM is camulosOS if you want to discuss it further. It might be easier to explain over AIM.

This thread hasn't been updated for a while, but it seems like the issue may potentially be on your end. The fact that you get similar results when running from FTP programs outside of OOTPB leads me to believe it's not an OOTPB issue.

Many times if your host, or your internet connection, are not terribly reliable, it's tough to maintain a solid connection for the long duration required to transfer that many files.

I would try transferring the files outside of OOTPB, about 200 files at a time. See if that can get you where you need to go, in the short run, at any rate.

Thanks,

Steve

We have a new rule that states that Tech Support threads wherein we have not received a response within 7 days will be closed.

This one meets this criteria, so I'm closing this.

If you want to discuss it again, just PM me with the thread link, and I'll re-open. (Don't just say "Hey, reopen my thread." I need to know the URL, thanks!)
