Long Seasons & Spring Training
I have imported a custom schedule, 166 games long, unbalanced, no interleague, AS game on gameday 103, for my fictional league set up as SL1_D1_T8_D2_T8_D3_T8_SL2_D1_T8_D2_T8_D3_T8. This schedule checks as every team playing 166 games, 83 home and 83 away, 10 games against each in-division opponent, 6 games against each non-division opponent. The schedule starts with a set of 5 games against each divisional opponent, runs through all the non-divisional games, then finishes with the rest of the divisional games.
Because of the extra length, I changed the season start date in Game>Game Setup>League Setup>Options to March 27, forcing a start day of Monday. Schedule Spring Training is checked. Number of games is set to 166, balanced is not checked, interleague is not checked, and the window tells me the schedule is loaded from my custom file. I quick-simmed my first season, and it seemed Spring Training and the Regular Season overlapped. There was a news message on Apr 3 saying the regular season started that day. At the end of the season 12 teams (2 per division) had played 167 games. My schedule report after the season seems to indicate that Spring Training games have been included, and totally disagrees with the report prior to the season, which reflected the perfection of my imported schedule.

since this is no longer on the first page ... and to update, despite the schedule file saying ... start_day_of_week="1" start_month="3" start_day="27" allstar_game_day="103"... and having the same date selected in-game, OOTP insisted on starting my new season on Mon, Apr 2. At least ST doesn't overlap anymore. The season now ends on Oct 12. I'm gonna be playing the WS in November. Possibly in an open stadium in Billings, MT vs an open stadium in Burlington, VT. If I'm being too esoteric to warrent a response, I can try to explain my problem in a way that's easier to understand.

For the mental health of the tech support guys (thanks to the betatesters for pitching in here!) could you verify thru this link http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=120897 ,
that your issue is on the list or not? ![]() That way we can start pushing next patch issues to another location privately , it would help. Plus our schedule gurus will be along shortly to try and help as well. Just a few things to verify, test, and record and we are in the process of making more headway, but sometime things fall thru the cracks. I appreciate it.

If you don't force the day of the week start, the season should always begin on the specified date (March 27 in this instance). Since the day of the week for a given date changes each year, this means your series will slide through the days of the week as the seasons progress. Now, you've forced the weekday start to something other than what the file wants (1=Sunday, 2=Monday, 3=Tuesday, etc.). Now, without knowing your schedule firsthand, maybe you have a Sunday start game, or maybe it's supposed to be Monday and the wrong number is used in the file. Anyway, hopefully gmo will be along to offer more insight. He's more familiar with the technical nitty-gritty of the settings than I am at the moment. |

![]() I got a little impatient when I saw other issues being dealt with while mine slipped. And I'll continue to press until I see my league start on 3/27 ... even if it is only once in seven years.
