PBP - Pitch & Hit
I'm going a bit crazy here. When playing the game in PBP mode firstly when pitching a "Pitch" for a strike it does not happen. Ends up as a ball. Or when Hitting does the same with the "Swing" feature. When I tell my batter to swing he ball watches and does not swing, my guess is that his Eye's or K's stats are taking control.
I just need an explanation why doesn't the pitcher and batter do exactly what you choose them to do in PBP mode. Looking forwrd to reply. |

"Pitch" means "throw the ball to the plate". It doesn't mean "groove it down the middle" (although it'd be cool if that was an option - you could simulate Crash Davis and stuff). In today's game, not even Lou Piniella can tell a guy to throw strikes and expect him to follow orders 100% of the time. Similarly, all "swing away" means is that you're letting the batter take his bat off his shoulder and swing *if he sees a pitch he wants to hit*. Some guys are going to hack at everything a la Vlad Guerrero, some are going to wait for their pitch a la Jim Thome. It's just the way baseball goes.

We have a new rule that states that Tech Support threads wherein we have not received a response within 7 days will be closed.
This one meets this criteria, so I'm closing this. If you want to discuss it again, just PM me with the thread link, and I'll re-open. (Don't just say "Hey, reopen my thread." I need to know the URL, thanks!) Steve |
